LOOKING TO VOLUNTEER?

Hospice volunteers are dedicated to providing ears for listening, hands for holding, and comfort to people with life-limiting illnesses. To be a hospice volunteer, you must possess the personal qualities of a positive approach to life, maturity, empathy, flexibility, a sense of humor, willingness to help others, and an enjoyment of being with them. A volunteer should also show the ability and willingness to work as a team member. Hospice volunteers are men and women of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in working in a variety of roles to help fulfill the hospice mission.

Doctor's Hospice recruits, trains, and assigns compatible volunteers to provide patients with a variety of services, including visiting, reading, correspondence, and reminiscing. The hospice volunteer may provide companionship to the patient and family, relieve the caregiver for short periods of time, assist with errands, make deliveries and perform other needed services.
